The Museum of Modern Art located in the Parish of Santa Maria and Sao Miguel (Sintra) is installed in a historic building in 1920 and was opened in 1997. Meets in a permanent collection of Contemporary Art International, part of the collection of renowned Berardo. The permanent exhibition de picts the main artistic movements of European and American art since the 20s to the present.
Since its inauguration in 1997, the museum had several temporary exhibitions, dedicated to Surrealism, Abstract Expressionism, American Pop Art and Minimal Art, among other movements and currents of modern and contemporary art.
