Visit Vila do Bispo

Vila do Bispo is a Portuguese town in the district of Faro, the Algarve region and subregion, with about 956 inhabitants (2001).
It is the seat of a municipality with 178.99 km ² and 5,349 inhabitants (2001), divided into 5 districts. The municipality is bordered to the north by the municipality of Aljezur, Lagos to the northeast and south and west coast is the Atlantic Ocean. The coastline of the city from the coast west to the east beach of Burgau, is part of the Natural Park of Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina.

Gastronomy

The cuisine featuring the Vila do Bispo, based on what the sea has to offer, as this is predominantly a fishing area.
Its diet consists mainly of a variety of fresh fish, cooked in various ways, grilled, baked, boiled or fried seafood, which is eaten cooked and shellfish that are open on the plate. However, the hunting season which normally begins in October and ends in December, it is common to cook dishes of wild boar, partridge, quail, hare or rabbit.
For dessert we use the fig and almond with abundance, and the dough with sugar plus other ingredients, such as the bacon.

Visit Cascade Leonte - Vilar da Veiga

The cascade is a cascade Portuguese Leonte located near Caldas do Geres, parish of Vilar da Veiga, municipality of Terras de Bouro and Braga.

Visit the Laja Waterfall - Vilar da Veiga

The cascade is a cascade Portuguese Laja located in Caldas do Geres, parish of Vilar da Veiga, municipality of Terras de Bouro and Braga. This waterfall is part of a mountain landscape, in the Serra do Geres where green is a reference point and contributes to the setting of the site, particularly for the scenario of the Peneda-Geres. Visit the Viewpoint of Pedra Bela - Vilar da Veiga

The Belvedere Stone Beauty is perhaps the most beautiful and visited viewpoint of the Peneda-Geres. It is a lot on the left bank of the river Gerês, 6 km from Caldas, in the Town of Vilar da Veiga, there is any sighting Caniçada dam, part of the valley and the mountains of Geres soaring to Portela of Leontes. Visit the Spa Geres - Vilar da Veiga

Visit the Dam and Reservoir Caniçada - Rio Caldo

Caniçada Dam is located in the municipalities of Lands and Bouro Vieira do Minho, in the River Basin Cávado. Its construction was completed in 1955. The dam has a height of 76 me a length of 246 m.
Has a volume of 90,000 m³ of concrete, and a maximum discharge capacity of 1700 m³ / s. It is a kind of arch dam. The installed power is 60 MW, producing on average 346 GWh per year.
The lake stretches for miles, is considered one of the most beautiful part of Portugal and marks the southern border of the Peneda-Geres. There, along the Rio Caldo and bridges to the Geres and São Bento da Porta Aberta, pensions and restaurants with terraces overlooking the water, as well as the possibility of boat trips.

Visit the village Typical Covide

The typical village of the Municipality of Covide Bouro Land is located 10 km from the seat of County and 40 kilometers from the city of Braga. Visit the Forest of Albergaria - Land Bouro

The forest of Hostels is located between the Caldas do Geres and Portela of Man. As one of the most important woods of the Natural Park of Gerês is considered a botanical reserve by hosting a major oak in its natural state, which includes typical species of fauna and flora geresianas, so that, although it can be navigated on foot, subject special measures of protection.

Visit the Serra do Geres - Land Bouro

The Serra do Geres is the second highest point in mainland Portugal with its peak at 1548 meters altitude in the Snowy Peak. It is part of the mountain Peneda-Geres.
