Monforte Castle, located in the Town of Aguas Frias, is located 825 meters above sea level and integrated defense of the valley of Chaves. Ordered the construction of D. Denis in the thirteenth century, probably on the remains of a Roman fort. This walled enclosure surrounding the town there are still some traces.
