Visit the River Beach of Almaceda

The River Beach of Almaceda, located in the parish of Almaceda, takes advantage of the banks of the river that gives it its name, making it a very pleasant space. On the bank there is an old wine press that once used the strength of these waters for its operation.
On the left bank of this beach, which is also known as Poço do Lagar, stands the place of the Lady of Grace characterized by natural landscapes of a unique beauty.

The pedestrian route of the Moinhos Route, located in the parish of Almaceda, begins in Martim Branco, an interesting shale village that is part of the route of the Aldeias do Xisto in Castelo Branco.
From here we head towards the village of Camões where, through pine trees, we arrive at the place where the landscape presents olive plantations.
After the passages of the river of the Magueija next to the village Camões and goes to Malhada of the Cervo traversing the old levadas that took the water to the lands once cultivated.
In Malhada do Cervo it goes to Ribeira da Magueija. It is here that you find a rodizio mill, next to the bridge that leads to the right bank of the river. This shale-roofed mill, although currently lined with cement, is an example of the type of local construction that used the materials available in nature.
Returning to Martim Branco, the trail continues through the pine forest that leads to Ribeira do Goulo, where we can still see centuries-old olive trees already covered with weeds. The final part of the route is made by forest paths flanked by forest and agricultural lands that lead to the starting point.

Visit the pedestrian route of the Rota dos Lagares - Almaceda

The pedestrian route of the Rota dos Lagares, located in the parish of Almaceda, is circular and takes us to old olive oil mills, traditionally known as Lagares de Varas. The route begins near the ruins of the first winery of sticks, it follows along the riverside of Almaceda that shelters in its olive groves and small gardens exquisitely cultivated family. It is in this river that is the second winery of sticks, also this almost in ruins but where you can still see all the constituent parts of the mill through its windows half open.
We leave behind the agricultural fields and we retrace our path through pine forest and new forest plantations that will take us to the last winery of this route, the wine cellar of Rochas de Cima, recently recovered so that it can be visited and make known to its visitors the process of oil extraction in Beira Baixa before the emergence of more recent and industrialized processes.
The route goes to Rochas de Cima before heading to the village of Violeiro. In this village is the obligatory stop of the dive source of fresh and crystalline waters that during years, still in the last century, was place of public supply.
Finally the route crosses forest paths that lead to Almaceda and the end of this route.

Visit the Shale Path of Martim Branco - Almaceda

The stunning Martim Branco Shale Path, located in the Feast of Almaceda, has two variants. The main, and longer, crosses the village to get into paths and forest paths that cross dams, streams and a deeply rural agricultural landscape.
The course begins in the Martim Branco Shale Village, crosses the stream and, taking the paths that cross the floodplain, it is possible to follow along the levadas contemplating a weir and mixtures of olive groves, medronhal and azinhal.
Further on, it crosses the stream on the Volta bridge again, entering a new track that accompanies a levada coming from a top weir.
Climb the Levada Nova to your weir where a path leads to a forest path. In Porto da Vila, the riparian corridor of the stream of Almaceda appears. You will cross the stream in a few poldras, which leads to the forest trail to the village of Almaceda.
The shorter variant leads to the water mills passing through the old milling core. After crossing the bridge of the Volta, it crosses the "Levada dos Moinhos" passing through the old milling nucleus towards Martim Branco.

Visit the Martim Branco White Shale Village - Almaceda

Martim Branco is a small village, located in the parish of Almaceda and situated between penedias of schist and quartz. The village develops from two longitudinal paths having a longitudinal configuration. One of these streets runs parallel and closer to the Ribeira de Almaceda.
It presents itself as a rural settlement where buildings destined for housing, haystacks, community ovens and dams, stand out for their modest layout architecture and with an interesting particularity: the fact that in the materials used predominate, without adulterations in most cases, the shale and mud. The predominant building material is shale.

Visit the pedestrian route of the Quercus - Sendas

The pedestrian path of the Quercus, part of the center of the town of Sendas to Vila Franca, taking the forest path that goes around the Monte do Gato and descends to the Tua Line. When you reach the old stop of Vila Franca, take the path from the right to the center of the village. Then it goes to Fermentãos, by a parallel road to the old line of railroad. At the exit of the village we cross the Roman bridge over the Ribeira de Sendas, then take the left path that accompanies the stream to the south. It climbs to the highest point of the route, at 873 meters and appreciates the landscape to the places already visited. The descent to Sendas is always done by forest paths.
Shortly after crossing the river, you reach an extension where you can choose to continue the walk to Cabeço Pelado and visit a waterfall or return to the starting point.
If you opt for the main road, go back over the river, continuing along that bank, for about 3km. Cross the river again and it is already in the final phase of the route that a small detour (250m) to visit the waterfall, known as Caldeira de Piones.

Visit the Serra da Nogueira - Nogueira (Bragança)

Serra da Nogueira, also known as Serra da Pena Mourisca, has 1319 meters of altitude. It is located in Alto Trás-os-Montes, in the counties of Bragança, Macedo de Cavaleiros and Vinhais. In Bragança it includes several Parishes among which the Parish of Nogueira.
Serra da Nogueira has always been covered by extensive oak groves. The Azibo River and the Fervença River and Ribeira de Vilares and Ribeira de Carvalhais are born in the Serra.

Visit the Pedestrian Trail of the Pombais - Macedo do Mato

The Pedestrian trail of the pombais begins in the width of the Parish of Macedo of the Mato, goes towards West until finding the Ribeira de Vale of Crasto, that accompanies downstream. When you reach a junction, take the left, then take the right path that climbs between the olive grove. At the next cut, descend to the Regato do Borteal, which we cross, rounding Cabeço da Barreira on the right and following in the direction of Sanceriz. When passing the center of the village you can see several diving sources, pigeons, the pillory and the Mother Church. A diversion to the Sanceriz watermill is also possible. At the exit of the village, head around Cabeço da Forca on the right, descending to Ribeira de Vilalva and following a rural road that accompanies this river to Frieira (upstream). As you cross the Romanesque bridge, another watermill, recently restored, appears to our left. Going forward, there is the chapel of S. João, the Mother Church and the pillory of Frieira.
When you get to the cruise, take the left path that leads the walker back to Macedo do Mato. Again we find Olival and Ribeira de Crasto Valley that we now follow upstream.

Visit the Trail of the rivers Veiga and Vilalva - Izeda

The route is located between the towns of Izeda and Calvelhe, in a plateau limited to the West by the Ribeira de Vilalva and to the East by the Ribeira da Veiga.
In Izeda, the route begins next to the current building of the Parish Council, where once the Primary School functioned. When you arrive at Fonte das 3 Bicas, take the left for Largo do Salgueiro and then for Rua de Santa Eulália, then take a rural road, on the right, that rises between agricultural fields. The valley of Ribeira de Vilalva to the left appears and soon after rounding the mount of the Retorta (highest point of the route), begins to descend towards Calvelhe.
From Calvelhe, descend to a small tributary of Ribeira da Veiga, following along the same one in the direction of Cabeço Pelado. Before we round this mountain, we find the mouth of two other small streams. The route continues towards Izeda, going up or down between pasture and cultivation zones. The final section is flanked by extensive olive groves.

Visit the Dam of Enjoy

The dam of Gostei is located in the riverside of Gostei. The dam was designed in 1986 and became operational in 1993
It is a landfill dam (homogeneous earth). It has a height of 35 meters above the foundation (33 meters above the natural terrain) and a crowning length of 238 meters (width 8 meters). The dam volume is 188,000 m³

Visit the railroad of Minas da Ribeira - Coelhoso

The Ribeira Mine Trail starts in Coelhoso, the route descends to the Ribeira de Viveiros, always by a wide road and overlooking the Santa Bárbara Chapel (the patron saint of the miners), and to the Ribeira Mines.
With about 150 years of history, this mine had ups and downs in its exploration. Its golden period was during the Second World War, when it employed about 2,000 people to extract wolfram.
When you pass the Ribeira, you start the ascent to Parada. As we proceed, we begin to observe extensive olive groves, olive groves and livestock being one of the main economic activities of these parishes. Already in the village of Parada we cross the Primary School Street, then take the direction of the Shrine of Our Lady of Carmo. The return to Rabbit is made by rural routes in agricultural area.

Visit the Railroad Bridge of Várzeas - Luso

The Rail Bridge of Várzeas, located in the Parish of Luso, on the Ribeira das Várzeas is about 280 meters and is part of the Beira Baixa Railway Line which was inaugurated in 1882. It was built by the Eiffel house.

Visit the Parque Dom Pedro Infante - Glory (Aveiro)

Infante Dom Pedro Park, located in the Town of Glory (Aveiro), started functioning from 1862 from the area that belonged to the Convent of St. Anthony.
Through the use of the river crossing created a series of lakes and fountains punctuate the surrounding green area. Focus on the avenue of lime trees, the gazebo iron, tiles and panels at the corners of romantic bridges and trees.

Visit the Canal Cojo - Glory (Aveiro)

The Channel of the OCOG, located in the Town of Glory (Aveiro), was once designated by the Ribeira Azenhas, given the high number of those devices that were concentrated along its margins. It was an important place for mooring boats.
