The Municipal Archaeological Museum José Monteiro is located in the historic city of Fundão, the solar falcon d'Elvas. One of the most prominent parts of the permanent exhibition is the statue-menhir from Fundão who is originally from Corgas, Town of Ladies. The menhir is the period of the Neolithic / Chalcolithic, Bronze Age. This is an irregular Menhir carved in a block of granite of medium grain, with 285 cm in length, 68 and 63 cm in width and thickness respectively and with maximum 1440 kg.
