Visit the Basilica of Santo Cristo - Outeiro (Bragança)

The basilica of Santo Cristo do Outeiro is a church-sanctuary in the Parish of Outeiro.
This basilica is a national monument since 1927 and received on July 12, 2014 the title of minor Basilica, attributed by the Congregation for Divine Worship and Discipline of the Sacraments.
It began to be built in 1698. Although the temple was open to worship from May 3, 1713, it was only effectively completed in 1739.
The architecture of the temple is distinguished by the symmetry and balance of proportions. It follows a baroque model inspired by the Manueline architecture, with the main source being the church of the Monastery of Santa Maria de Belém, in an attempt to revive the golden period of the discoveries before the Philippine dominion.
The main façade is inspired by the church of the Monastery of São Vicente de Fora. It is torn by a magnificent twinned portal, surmounted by a large rosette and flanked by two bell towers with a pyramidal finish.
The interior, of baroque taste, is typical of the church-hall. The altars of polychrome and gilt carving stand out.
In the sacristy stand the paintings of coffins by the Valistolean painter Damião Bustamante, made in 1768 and also following a seventeenth-century revivalist trend.

Visit the Serra da Nogueira - Nogueira (Bragança)

Serra da Nogueira, also known as Serra da Pena Mourisca, has 1319 meters of altitude. It is located in Alto Trás-os-Montes, in the counties of Bragança, Macedo de Cavaleiros and Vinhais. In Bragança it includes several Parishes among which the Parish of Nogueira.
Serra da Nogueira has always been covered by extensive oak groves. The Azibo River and the Fervença River and Ribeira de Vilares and Ribeira de Carvalhais are born in the Serra.

There is an opportunity to visit the Parish Church of Mós (baroque style), and a community Forge. The return to Sortes is in the direction of the Paçó de Sortes, passing in the vicinity of a quarry. When you leave the Paçó de Sortes, the route will once again cross the IP4, following rural roads until you return to the Tua line, which will take you back to Sortes.
Already in the final stretch, it passes through the building of the old railway station of Sortes (the second station of the Line of the Tua, in the sense Bragança - Tua), which was recently renovated and currently serves as the seat of Parish Council.

Visit the Sampaio Ruins of Sampaio - Million

The Sampaio Rock Prints, located in the Parish of Millão are constituted by three different panels, all showing the same north / south orientation, facing the Rio Sabor. All engravings were obtained by perforation and go back to the Upper Palaeolithic. The first panel features a single engraved figure, representing an auroch, about 80 cm long, almost complete, with the exception of the backtack. The head is facing south, and is represented in great detail, with mouth, nostril, eye, ear and the two horns. From the head the lines of the back, the chest and the belly are drawn, and the outline of the front paw is also represented.
The second panel is displaced from the original site, constituting at present a loose block, possibly resulting in the preservation of a single incomplete figure, an auroque, with two heads in different positions, also facing south.
The third panel is under the second. Only a single trace, of an unidentified figure, is perceptible. It is partially covered by sediments deposited by the river, so it is possible that there are more traces of this figure.

Visit the Sanctuary of Santa Ana - Meixedo (Bragança)

The Sanctuary of Santa Ana, located in the Parish of Meixedo, features religious, vernacular and 16th century architecture. 20. In the interior it has pulpit in the side of the Gospel and baroque altarpiece, in polychrome carving, of straight plant and an axis.

Visit the Pedestrian Trail of the Pombais - Macedo do Mato

The Pedestrian trail of the pombais begins in the width of the Parish of Macedo of the Mato, goes towards West until finding the Ribeira de Vale of Crasto, that accompanies downstream. When you reach a junction, take the left, then take the right path that climbs between the olive grove. At the next cut, descend to the Regato do Borteal, which we cross, rounding Cabeço da Barreira on the right and following in the direction of Sanceriz. When passing the center of the village you can see several diving sources, pigeons, the pillory and the Mother Church. A diversion to the Sanceriz watermill is also possible. At the exit of the village, head around Cabeço da Forca on the right, descending to Ribeira de Vilalva and following a rural road that accompanies this river to Frieira (upstream). As you cross the Romanesque bridge, another watermill, recently restored, appears to our left. Going forward, there is the chapel of S. João, the Mother Church and the pillory of Frieira.
When you get to the cruise, take the left path that leads the walker back to Macedo do Mato. Again we find Olival and Ribeira de Crasto Valley that we now follow upstream.

The Ponte de Frieira on the Vale de Moinhos river, is located in Macedo do Mato parish. It goes back to the fifteenth century.
The bridge was for many years the only access to the village of Sanceriz.
This Bridge is a stone masonry construction, features an easel board set in five perfect back arches, the middle one being the largest. It has a sea-cutter downstream. The guards, in stone, show signs of restoration. The pavement is of the Portuguese sidewalk type.
It has been classified as Property of Municipal Interest since 1990.

Visit the Trail of the rivers Veiga and Vilalva - Izeda

The route is located between the towns of Izeda and Calvelhe, in a plateau limited to the West by the Ribeira de Vilalva and to the East by the Ribeira da Veiga.
In Izeda, the route begins next to the current building of the Parish Council, where once the Primary School functioned. When you arrive at Fonte das 3 Bicas, take the left for Largo do Salgueiro and then for Rua de Santa Eulália, then take a rural road, on the right, that rises between agricultural fields. The valley of Ribeira de Vilalva to the left appears and soon after rounding the mount of the Retorta (highest point of the route), begins to descend towards Calvelhe.
From Calvelhe, descend to a small tributary of Ribeira da Veiga, following along the same one in the direction of Cabeço Pelado. Before we round this mountain, we find the mouth of two other small streams. The route continues towards Izeda, going up or down between pasture and cultivation zones. The final section is flanked by extensive olive groves.
