Visit the Pedagogical Farm of Braga - Real (Braga)

The Pedagogical Farm of Braga, located in the Parish of Real, is a space of dialogue between generations that seeks to bring people closer to the rural world, to environmental issues and to Minho traditions.

Those who visit this Quinta enter this still unknown world and contact directly with the farm animals, native species of the traditional Minhota landscape, allowing them to distinguish them, to know their life cycles, their food and their well-being.

Also, mini-land-based agriculture is represented in the different spaces in the Quinta, such as Pomar and Horta, and agricultural activities carried out throughout the year such as planting, planting and plant maintenance.

This Pedagogical Farm has restored and adapted an old traditional Minhota farm, for educational and pedagogical purposes, it is the place to recover and enhance the traditions and customs of Minhota Ethnography.

The vintage, the defoliated, the magusto but also the confection of the cornbread, the jams and the gentlemen, recipes of our "grandparents" of the Traditional Gastronomy, are examples of activities carried out on the Quinta.

Convent of San Francisco, located in the Parish of Real, is composed of a church with a longitudinal plant, with an endonart, a single nave and a rectangular main chapel, on the axis, with a Greek cross chapel, laterally attached and conventual premises with irregular plant. Church with main facade, framed by pilasters in the wedges topped by pediment countersunk with edicule to the center.

It has 3 perfect back arc spans that open in the first register and rectangular window flanked by edicts, in the second, separated by strip of stone with the arms stone of the Franciscan Order. Endonártex with tiles of standard seiscentistas, possibly reutilized of the previous construction. Retables lateral, rococo and baroque joanino. Main altarpiece Baroque Johannine. Sixteenth-century chain, reclaimed from the Cathedral of Braga. Very simple conventual premises, devoid of decorative elements, with small loggia, with interior cover in edge vault. Adjacent to the church is the famous Chapel of St. Frutuoso, incorporated in the church, when the reconstruction of the convent in the 18th century. 18. The choir of the choir-choir is one of the three 16th-century examples in Portugal, which still remain today. The work of carving of the altarpieces, attributed to two of the great Bracaran figures, is of excellent quality, standing out two of the lateral altarpieces, which extend throughout the right foot of the nave, framing the windows. The main altarpiece presents the same imaginary arrangement of the main façade. The sacristy preserves above the archazion a reliquary retable in gilded carving.

Visit the Chapel of Senhor do Bom Sucesso - Real (Braga)

The Chapel of Senhor do Bom Sucesso, located in the Parish of Real, is a baroque building, dating from the 18th century. At present it serves as a funeral chapel.

This chapel has two small windows on its façade, flanked by the door. In the center, the main door is topped by a mitered pediment. On this, a large window glazed, with baroque decoration.

Crowning the pediment and on the plaque is a simple cross, a single cross, but very decorated. On the wedges, two pinnacles complete the appearance of the facade.

The Chapel of St. Frutuoso, located in the Parish of Real, was built on the initiative of St. Frutuoso, bishop of Braga and Dume in the second half of the seventh century.

During the seventeenth century, it was incorporated into the Convent of St. Francis (Braga), whose church is now the seat of the parish of St. Jerome of Real.

It has a unique small chapel, in pre-Romanesque style, with a Suevo-Visigothic moth, apparently inspired by the Byzantine mausoleums.

Its interior is considered like unique exemplar of the Architecture of the high Average Age Galaica.

This Chapel is classified as a National Monument.
