Visit the Church of Santa Maria - Santa Maria and Sao Miguel (Sintra)

The Church of Santa Maria, located in the Parish of Santa Maria and Sao Miguel (Sintra) was erected in the twelfth century by order of Alfonso I of Portugal. Over the centuries has undergone several operations, including at the end of the thirteenth century and early fourteenth century, and after the damage when the great earthquake of 1755.
This is a building in Romanesque-Gothic style with three naves, with ogival arches of a structure and finely carved capitals - one of the few medieval relics that have survived. This Church is classified as a National Monument.
