Visit the Church of San Lorenzo - Arranhó

The Church of San Lorenzo, located in the Town of Arranhó, have been built in 1504.
It is a church nave supported on the outside of the left side, two massive buttresses. Cunhal in the right front has a bell tower with two bells and clock, served by spiral stone staircase. The headboard consists of the chancel and two side altars. The chancel opens with two arches connected and surmounted by a niche, and the bottom is covered with carved gilt wood exposed at the top, a large crucifix, flanked by statues of St. Lawrence and St. Francis of Assisi. The altar is of stone and is in the center of the sanctuary. The altar on the Gospel side has the image of Our Lady of Mercy, wood, and the Epistle side is dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima. A thick balustrade presbirério closes.
On the side of the Gospel side altar there is an open wall and niche dedicated to Our Lady. To the left of the altar stands a stone pulpit, served by a ladder from the same material. On the same wall at the back of the church, opened in the chapel is the Baptistery with sink and central niche with a representative icon of the Baptism of Jesus. On the opposite wall, a shrine venerated identical to Santa Catarina.
The ceiling is covered in wood, with rectangular panels painted. The central panel, in addition to other common motifs, representing the Blessed Sacrament.
In the back of the church on the main door, is the choir, built in polychrome wood, based on the corners in the capitals of stone embedded museum walls and supported in front by two cylindrical columns of stone. The balustrade frontral bears the date 1755. The paintings represent the bottom, and various decorative motifs, symbols related to S. Lawrence.
