The Bridge on the Ash is a road bridge over the River Douro, which connects the Town of Oliveira do Douro (Vila Nova de Gaia) in Porto, and was inaugurated in 1995.Of the bridges connecting Porto to Vila Nova de Gaia, the Bridge is that Ash is the most upstream of the river Douro. Project by Prof. António Reis these are actually two bridges built side by side and 10 cm apart from each other. The bridge has eight spans, the main one being 150 m. It is a road bridge with eight-lane (four in each direction), but the board with a lot less than the quotas of all other bridges connecting Porto and Gaia.
