The beach of the Great Bear, owned by the Town of Colares, is in the Natural Park of Sintra-Cascais.
The descent to the beach is long and some what difficult, but rewarded by the stunning natural beauty and wild 'Bear'.
The beach got its name from the huge stone in the shape of a bear, along side another name Giant rock formation. With about 50 meters long, this beach is very pretty, but it gets a little space at high tide.
