Visit the Parish Church of Santa Isabel do Monte

The Church of Santa Isabel do Monte is deployed to 745 meters above sea level, atop the small hill that dominates, in the Southeast, the fertile plain of Abbots Camp has as patron of St. Elizabeth, is a small Christian church, with nave and chancel rectangular.
Architecture simple, uncluttered, but with solid masonry construction in local granite, as is shown by the outer edges, the church of Santa Isabel do Monte houses, besides the same altar in the chancel, two lateral altars.
Presents no architectural features characteristic of any artistic style and it fits in its simplicity, wide range of religious buildings of rural Minho, the local factory, built during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. For the absolute chronology of this church is known a reference document of 1728, the year retired the walls of the chapel. The church shares the top of the hill to the parish cemetery, which slopes to the north side, and with an attachment that develops parallel to the body of the church on the south side, which serves to support parish activities.
