The Cine-Teatro Avenida, located in the parish of Castelo Branco, occupies a corner of Campo da Pátria and the new Avenida Marechal Carmona, on a plot of land of 2,050 square meters.
Designed by architects Raul César Caldeira and Albertino Crujeiro Galvão Roxo, the building has a covered area of 1,147 square meters. The remaining land, with a surface area of 903 square meters, is a terrace for outdoor spectacles.
Conceived in the Modern Style, it is a characteristic exemplar of the evolution of the Architecture, operated in century XX.
In addition to the main hall, counter and dressing rooms has on its three floors, other halls, bars and all the dependencies inherent to a modern house of spectacles.
The inauguration was in 1954.
The room now has a capacity of 703 people, 408 seats in the audience, 264 in the first balcony and 7 cabins with a capacity of 31 seats.
