The Church of Our Lady of Conception, located in the parish of candles, belonged to the former Convent of St. Francis of Sails. It is a seventeenth century building. It presents a unique body endowed with elaborate cornices and porch in lava black.
The nave of this church has been enriched with gilded pulpit and presents an image of Nossa Senhora da Conceição dating from the eighteenth century and an image of St. Anthony. The main altar is Baroque. It also presents archivolts and Solomonic columns. It was restored in the early twentieth century.

It features a bell tower on the left side of the main building which is equipped with a bell and a small pyramid-shaped summit. Presents a cross on the roof on the central door and on the same port has a stylized representation of an esoteric symbol of the Holy Spirit.
