The Cargaleiro Museum, located in the parish of Castelo Branco, has as its main objective the dissemination, study and conservation of the pieces that make up the collection of the Art Collection of the Manuel Cargaleiro Foundation. A goal that is translated into the promotion and organization of temporary or temporary exhibitions of long duration.
Consisting of two contiguous buildings - Solar dos Cavaleiros, a mansion built in the 18th century. XVIII, and a contemporary building - Cargaleiro Museum is located in the heart of the historical area of the city, in the vicinity of Praça de Camões, popularly known as Praça Velha. The Cargaleiro Museum complements its offer with a set of services, with emphasis on the Educational Service, Art Library / Documentary Center and Shop, as well as a small outdoor amphitheater, with the conditions to host the most diverse activities and shows.
