Visit the Paúl de Arzila Nature Reserve

The Paúl de Arzila Nature Reserve, located on the left bank of the Mondego River, covers three different municipalities: Coimbra in the Parish of Arzila, Condeixa-a-Nova and Montemor-o-Velho, covering an area of ​​535 hectares.
It is one of the richest pauis in Portugal, with an important flora, housing about 300 species, and a rich fauna with 119 species of birds, 14 mammals, 10 reptiles, 9 amphibians and 13 fish. Red Heron, a species that breeds in this Reserve and is in danger of extinction.
The Reserve has an Interpretation Center which comprises various thematic exhibitions and information and dissemination material.
The Reserve provides an observatory to better understand and witness its richness, and it also has visitor support picnic parks.
