The Ocreza River is a Portuguese river that rises in the Gardunha mountain range at 1160 meters, west of Castelo Novo and flows into the Tagus River after passing through Sarzedas Parish.

Visit the Fluvial Beach of Sesmo - Sarzedas
Sesmo River Beach located in the beautiful village of Sesmo, Parish of Sarzedas, is surrounded by hills and valleys characteristic of the interior pine forest area.
The beach is formed from a dam built on a small tributary stream of the Ocreza River.

Visit the Pedestrian Trail of the Ribeira da Magueija Route - Sarzedas
The Ribeira da Magueija Walking Path is linear and not too long. It shows three villages in the parish of Sarzedas and can be done towards Rapoula - Malhada do Cervo or Malhada do Cervo - Rapoula.
The trail begins in Rapoula, a picturesque village of scattered houses, along the right bank of Magueija river. It is on this route that we find a set of uninhabited houses that they call “Hairstyle”.
You leave behind Rapoula and Penteado towards Azenha de Baixo where you can reach by trails and agricultural fields.
To reach our next destination, Malhada do Cervo, take the path that leads into the interior of the pine forest, leaving behind the Magueija stream.

Visit the Pedestrian Path of the Well of the Bells - Sarzedas
The Poço dos Sinos Route Pedestrian Trail starts at the Casa do Povo da Grade and then goes through olive groves and small family gardens to the village of Casal Novo.
In this village silence reigns, the uninhabited but preserved houses receive those who pass by. We head for the pine forest, along the banks of the river between willows and alders, among centuries-old bushes and olive trees forgotten by the owners, who once took their income, towards Ribeira da Magueija.
The path takes us to Ribeira do Goulo. Here too, nature has taken the place of the traditional olive grove planted by the ancestors of those who still live in neighboring villages. It is in this stream that ahead we will find the Poço dos Sinos Bridge that has legends and stories to discover with those who can tell them. The Santo Ildefonso Chapel is our next stop after being left behind by the company of man-planted olive and cork oaks.
From Santo Ildefonso we return to Ribeira, which houses the old wine press on the bank, of which only the greens that grind the olives remain. Let's find Pereiro Mill and Casal Novo Mill where we can go in and learn how the cereal was ground. We are now back at Grade and its cultivated fields where this route ends, in the same place from where we started.

Visit the Pillory of Sarzedas
The Pillory of Sarzedas is located in the parish of Sarzedas. It has been classified as a Public Interest Property since 1933.
The original pillory, possibly contemporary of the Manueline charter, was destroyed in the late 19th century. Three finial fragments, the only remaining elements, were integrated into the 1963 reconstitution. It has an octagonal stem decorated at the angles with bosantes. On the capital, also decorated with half spheres, rests a cubic block of faces adorned with very eroded heraldic motifs, topped by a pyramid.

Visit the Chapel of Mercy - Sarzedas
The Chapel of Mercy, located in the parish of Sarzedas, was built in the 19th century. XVIII. It is a baroque temple of sober lines, of composite longitudinal plan, with nave, narrow chancel, sacristy and bell tower. West facing façade, bounded by pilasters on plinth, topped by pinnacles, flanking a triangular pediment. Shattered arched portal topped by a curved cornice. Shoulderpieces decorated by the threshold by two scrolls. Bell tower with granite belfry, in full arch, framed by volutes.
Inside a single ship. On the Epistle side, a lectern supported by a granite console and a wooden guard. Next to it, a wooden corbis-based image, matched on the opposite side. Side altar framed by perfect arch with protruding imposing and decorated closing stone. On the Gospel side stands an altarpiece with similar characteristics. Triumphal arch of perfect back with protruding imposes. Lower and narrow chancel, lit by two windows, with granite flagstone floors. Tripartite ceilings in painted wood, the chancel in blue tone with stars. Late-Baroque gilded altarpiece painted white with gold accents. Flanked by the insignia of Christ's martyrdom.

Visit the Sarzedas Shale Path
The pedestrian trail of the Sarzedas Shale Trail, with a length of 14 km, begins in the Schist Village of Sarzedas, next to the Chapel of St. Anthony and runs along the streets lined with emblazoned houses to the Chapel of St. Sebastian, then following the old Roman sidewalk.
Still in the village, it passes through the Mother Church, its belfry and also the fountain, where the inhabitants went to fetch water and where there is still a laundrette.
Leaving the village, the route crosses areas of pines, cork oaks and oaks until we reach Almoinhas and Rapoula passing near the old Tungsten Mines. Further ahead is the Chapel of St. Mary Magdalene.
Near Sarzedas, and almost ending, the path passes through an oak tree populated with centuries-old trees.
