Visit the River Beach Piódão

The Piódão River Beach is located in the Village Piódão, hidden in the Serra of Goshen, for their wonderful and unique urban composition.
In river Piódão built a dam that created a river area that is fit for the practice of bathing activity.
Its shores and surrounding area, are very wooded, allowing recreational areas.

Visit the River Beach Foz D'Mare

Praia Fluvial de Foz D'Mare is located in the Town of Piódão along the bridges at the junction of the Ribeiras Piódão and Chãs D'Mare, meet and your route is waged by a dam, creating a pond and contributing to a paradise in the middle of summer
The site has a natural beauty that the framework of the two existing bridges, the proximity of two mills in shale, a mill and the stone blocks carved by the flow of streams, allows the use of tourism.
The beach area is quite regular, it follows the lead of the streams.

The Chapel of Santo Domingo, located in the village of Sobral Magro, Town of Piódão, has a tower with similarities to the Church of Piódão.

Visit the Church of Nossa Senhora da Conceição - Piódão

The Church of Our Lady of Conception, located in the main square of the Town of Piódão, is the element that stands out most of the gray village that is now painted blue and white.

Built in the seventeenth century, the facade of the church was rebuilt in the nineteenth century neoclassical style.

This is a building of great architectural value, with frontage consists of four thin cylindrical towers topped cones and square bell tower plant in the middle of the south facade. There is a temple sculpture in limestone of Our Lady of Conception, dated the Second Half of Five Hundred.

It is said that one day the people gathered all the available gold and sent an old pastor ask the Bishop of Coimbra permission to build the church.

In view of such expensive request, the bishop was preparing to deny the request, when the old minister, opening his cap mountain, showed him the gleaming gold coins needed for such an undertaking.

Visit the Village Typical Chãs d'Mare - Piódão

The typical village of Mare d'Chãs, belongs to the Town of Piódão and is marked by typical houses Shale.
Chãs d'Mare is located in Vale da Ribeira d'Chãs Mare, downstream of Cabeço Gondufe and Ports d'Mare. There are indications that this is the oldest settlement in the parish, or in reports from generation to generation either by the existing rock art. Its foundation dates back to 700 to 1000 years BC
According to popular tradition, the origin of the name Mare d'Chãs due to the fact that, when the Roman settlement being created in Chãs, local water-rich and associated with mineral exploration, mares destined to be linked in sports cars and combat.

Visit the village of Shale Piódão

The village of Shale Piódão, situated on a hillside of Serra Goshawk which gives an image of a true post.
The dwellings are traditional slate walls, the ceiling is covered with slabs and wooden doors and windows painted blue. The aspect that gives the artificial light at night, combined arrangement of the houses meant that it received the name "Bethlehem Village".
The architectural form of a settlement of historic villages and protected in the 1980 receives the cock silver medal awarded to "the most typical village in Portugal."
The village of Piódão was classified as a Public Interest.
