Visit the Ponte do Infante - Santa Marinha (Vila Nova de Gaia)

The Infante Bridge is a road bridge that connects the Town of Santa Marinha (Vila Nova de Gaia) in Porto, the Douro River.
Named for Prince Henry, born in Porto, is the latest and, according to many, the most slender bridge linking Porto and Gaia. It was built to replace the upper deck of Luis I Bridge, but converted to use the "Yellow Line" (St John Hospital / D.João II) Metro do Porto.

Brief Historical Summary

The origin of Vila Nova de Gaia probably dates back to a Celtic castro. During the Roman Empire, took the name or Cale Gale.
