The Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Piedade, belonging to the Order of Christ and located in the Parish of Castelo Branco, was built in the 16th century under the original invocation of St. Gregory.
Of longitudinal plant, the chapel presents / displays a facade of two registers; the first has a perfect round arch portal flanked by a hollowed-out frame and topped by a frame that frames five scallops in relief. At the center of the second register was ripped a straight frame window. Each of the buttresses of the building is crowned by a belfry. The building is finished in gable with a stone cross.
The interior of the church is composed of a single nave, with walls covered by panels of ornate tiles depicting the Adoration of the Magi, the Last Supper, the Mysteries of the Virgin, images of the Apostles and of St. Francis and St. Anthony. Making the separation between the nave and the main chapel, a triumphal arch in gilded and polychrome carving, bearing the center date of 1617. The body of the sacristy is identical to that of the church, giving access to the belfry.
