The Ria Formosa is a marsh located in the province of Algarve in Portugal, which covers the municipalities of Loulé, Faro, Olhão, Tavira and Vila Real de Santo António, covering an area of about 18,400 acres along 60 miles from the river Ancão to the beach of Manta Rota.
