Visit the Church of Santa Maria - Santa Maria (Bragança)

The Church of Santa Maria, located in the parish of Santa Maria, in the city of Bragança, was built in the 17th century. XIV.
Considered as the oldest church of Bragança, it is of Romanesque style and was, during two centuries, modified, having resulted in a Baroque style. The façade features a baroque portal richly decorated with two salomonic columns decorated with leaves of vines and clusters.
Its interior is formed by three naves separated by polygonal columns, that support the arches and a scenic painting, in the cover of the body of the Church, representing the Assumption of the Virgin. The main chapel and chapel of the Figueiredos, the altarpiece to Saint Stephen and the image of Santa Maria Magdalena stand out.
