The village of Rio de Onor is inserted in the Natural Park of Montesinho being crossed by the border with Spain. On one side, Rio de Onor, on the other, Rihonor de Castilla. This community village is one of the best preserved of the Natural Park of Montesinho, with typical houses shale serranas in porch with balconies porches, very well recovered. The raian village is crossed by the river Onor, also known as Contensa river, and its river beach invites moments of rest, next to the clear waters of the river!

The typical handicraft of the village includes pieces of basketry and carpentry and in the gastronomy the tasty sausages stand out. Of the ancestor traditions of Rio de Onor, mention should be made of the "rionorês", a dialect that was born from the mixture of Castilian and Portuguese and which is still spoken today in the village; and the Feast of the Kings (January 6), a rite of puberty in which single boys participate.
