The Castle of Alfenim, located in the Parish of Pinela was a large fortified settlement located on a quartzite crest that rises to 960 meters of altitude. This location gives you excellent geostrategic control over the surrounding embankment, which includes an extensive planar area. The inner platform presents a plant with an approximately subcircular configuration and is surrounded by a line of wall whose traces are easily detected from a slope and some rocky landslides. Generally, this line surrounds the town in all its extension. A surface survey allowed to collect some ceramic fragments that mark the occupation of this settlement between the Iron Age and the Middle Ages.
