The water from the Poças fountain, located in the parish of Pampilhosa, runs to a stone tank, which once served to give drink to the working oxen, which formerly all the farmers of the place possessed. Beside it is a wide poial, where the women who went to the fountain lay the canecos while they waited their turn, and also served to help put them to the head.
The water of this fountain is limestone, so it is not good to drink, but it is abundant, running without interruption either of winter or summer in an inexhaustible source. It has an interesting property: cook the vegetables very well leaving them with a beautiful green color. It is also tradition on earth that it has medicinal properties - which I do not know - but which can be proved by an appropriate analysis. When the last restoration, the Parish Council of Pampilhosa, has alimented the place, ordering a flower bed, which gives a certain beauty to the site making it more captivating and pleasant.
