The Municipal Stadium of Braga, located in the parish of São Vicente, was designed by the Portuguese architect Eduardo Souto Moura (Prize Pritzker 2011) and the Portuguese engineer Rui Furtado, is inserted in the urban park located on the slope of Monte Castro, on the outskirts of the urban area of Braga, facing the valley of Cávado River. The stadium is used by Sporting Clube de Braga and has capacity for 30 thousand seats having only two side benches.
The cover has as a stylistic reference "the bridges built by the Inca civilization" in Peru, in order to illuminate the grass with natural light, thus preserving the natural quality of the turf.
