The Museum of the Biscainhos, located in the Parish of the Cathedral, is installed in a remarkable patrimonial set composed by property and garden.
The Museum of the Biscainhos has as a programmatic component the illustration of the experience in the Portuguese noble society, in the context of a seigniorial house of the XVII and XVIII centuries.
The building has interiors of great artistic interest, namely, compartments with parietal tile coverings from the 16th century. XVIII and ceilings with paintings and ornamental treatments.
It presents to the public a sequence of spaces that give a view of the occupations, tastes and traditions of our ancestors of the nobility of the XVII and XVIII centuries, being able to visit the Atrium, the Noble Hall, the Showrooms, Oratory, Music, the Dining Room, the Stables and the Old Kitchens. As an obligatory complement of the visit, the baroque gardens unfold in a show of artistic and environmental beauty, defining the formal garden and the old orchard and vegetable garden.
