The Fort of São Filipe de Setúbal, located in the Parish of Our Lady of the Annunciation, has structure in the Mannerist style. In stone masonry and brick, lined with stone masonry, has an irregular polygonal star (organic) with six prismatic ramparts and watchtowers at the corners covered with domes protruding, surrounded by a moat. On the land side, the defense is complemented by a second wall (counterscarp), outside the moat.
In its interior, which is accessed by a gate Arms west walls, defended by two ramparts, there is a lobby gives access to a tunnel of stone masonry, with a wide and smooth staircase with two flights of stairs. This, in turn, is covered by a dome and the level of their bids gives access to the bunkers. At its end are the service buildings: the Command House (former residence of the Governor of Arms) and the Chapel on the left.
